Italian artist Giuseppe De Nettis (1846-1884) was born into a wealthy family in Barletta, Italy. During his short career, De Nettis painted in Paris, on yearly trips to London, and while visiting Italy. He was named Knight of the Order of the Crown of Italy in 1875.
